Wednesday August 28th, 2013 was a very sad day for us. We had to say goodbye to Ice. She was a dog of a lifetime - truly my soulmate dog and her special place in my heart will never, ever be replaced. She had many struggles due to an injury she sustained at 4 years old and met each challenge... with an unwavering fighting spirit and a love for any person she met. Those who knew Ice loved her dearly. She loved life and put a smile on our faces every day. When life threw her challenges her happiness never wavered and she was strong and tough, but so sweet and gentle.
She taught me about patience, perseverance, acceptance and seeing the good in everyone and every situation. Ask my 8 year daughter, "Who is your best friend" and the immediate response was always, "Icey of course". I'm so, so sad. Ice was just shy of her 12th birthday.
She raised numerous puppies, grand-puppies, kittens and anything else she could mother big or small. She lives in my beloved Raven - her granddaughter that was born on her 9th birthday. Rest peacefully my sweet girl - may you be able to run free once again. Someday we will be together again.
